Oh girl. Do you ever have those days when you just need a minute? Like a REAL good minute? One that might involve an adult beverage?
Or just time on the bathroom floor to cry it out? Or to just breathe and say “it’s fine, everything’s fine” in that Ross voice where everything is NOT fine? Ever have one of those days? Yeah, I had one today.
I have such a hard time embracing these days, too, y’all. I get so hard on myself. Like...Hillary cherish the moment. He’s only little once. Take a breath and chill.
But my anxiety is like “yeah, no we have no chills. Try again tomorrow.” True story.
Mainly the reason I share these moments in this space is not to complain. I am so grateful to be this boy’s mama you guys. The Lord qualifies the called, right? My mom rank is currently Called and in Progress.
We are ALL in progress, y’all.
So, mama, it’s okay.
It’s okay to need a minute on the bathroom floor.
It’s okay to let out a good cry.
It’s okay to schedule a night or day or weekend out.
It’s okay to feel like you don’t know what to do.
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed.
It’s okay to feel frustrated, upset, and exhausted.
It’s okay, mama, it’s okay.
What’s not okay is letting the Enemy make you feel like any less of the Warrior that you are. You can feel all of these things and still be worthy of this great calling because of WHO called you! Oh, mama, you are so, so WORTHY! Don’t you know? You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Do you know what that means? To be fearfully made? The word David used here was “yare” and it means “standing in awe.” Mama you are worthy of awe and wonder - not because of anything you’ve done, but because of everything you were created to BE! You were made in awesome wonder and found worthy long before your first breath, and you will continue to be long after your last because of the legacy with which He has entrusted you and the title of Daughter which you bear.
Mama you are worthy. You are mighty. And it’s okay to be HUMAN. So after that good cry and hot shower, stand up and straighten that crown. Because Satan’s lies don’t belong in the presence of God’s mighty warriors.
